Amy Tsai, Product Manager and Designer based in Vancouver

Product Manager + Designer · 5+ Years · Vancouver.

Product judgment, design instinct.

I'm Amy — a Product Manager with design fluency and 5+ years building digital products, drawing on a decade of leadership in high-stakes, high-visibility environments — from large-scale projects and physical events to digital commerce. I take complex, ambiguous initiatives end-to-end: from rough idea to shipped product.

Portfolio Case Studies

Three end-to-end product cases — strategy through shipped feature. Each one pulled from real work in a lean, ambiguity-rich environment.

Case Study 01: Zero → One Solo PM · End-to-End

Listing Feature

"Most homeowners have never sold a property without a realtor walking them through. This is what makes that possible — and the moment that makes it safe."

  • • Product strategy
  • • Platform architecture
  • • Legal compliance

I led PM end-to-end on the flow that turns a blank form into a legally verified, offer-ready listing — ownership confirmed, declarations signed, contract terms set. The craft was knowing where compliance had to stay rigid and where language could become human.

Outcome ↳

First-of-its-kind in Canada at launch — homeowner-led property listings without a licensed realtor.

Case Study 02: Zero → One Self-initiated · Shipped

Negotiation Feature

"The keystone between a listing and a signed deal — and on no Canadian platform did it actually exist."

  • • Systems design
  • • Data model ownership
  • • Transaction design

This wasn't on a roadmap. I named the gap, redrew the data model, and shipped the layer that turns "interested buyer" into "agreed terms" — defined the offer states, owned the timer and extension architecture, and connected negotiation to chat, contracts, and ID verification.

Outcome ↳

Built the first in-product negotiation layer between listing and signed deal — work typically handled by realtors over the phone.

Case Study 03: Zero → One → V2 Founding Designer → PM

Checkout Feature

"Closing the deal without anyone in the room. I designed it once as the founding designer — then came back as PM. I knew what every V1 decision was for, and which ones no longer fit B2C."

  • • Product management
  • • Behavioural design
  • • Identity verification

The platform pivoted from B2B pre-construction to B2C resale. Same flow, different product. I rebuilt the contract generator to pull from multiple upstream sources, made the timer persistent, and designed the extension request as the release valve. Behavioral design where there's no human fallback.

Outcome ↳

Rebuilt OwnSpace's checkout end-to-end through a B2B → B2C product pivot.
